Arklow LGBT was established to create a better environment for all LGBTQ people in Arklow and across the county of Wicklow.
The group runs a regular informal Social Drop-in service for LGBTQ people. If you would like to be part of this, please e-mail your contact details to join the 'social drop-in'. The Drop-in is a place to meet new people, make new friends and provide support to each other.
Arklow LGBTQ started the Wicklow Pride Festival in 2015 - actively works at bringing the entire community together to celebrate as one, without barriers, without prejudice, without fear of difference - to embrace diversity, promote equality, and work at creating a more inclusive society.
Arklow LGBTQ published the 'play safe' health and safety pocket leaflet.
Arklow LGBTQ brought the 'Irish Queer Archive' to Arklow for the very first time.
Arklow LGBTQ supports the LGBTA Youth Group, Arklow.
The Arklow LGBTQ group is open to all Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Questioning people from the age of 17 and over. All members can attend the regular social group and/or join the Organising Group to actively work on the various projects it initiates. The social drop-in service is only open to people that identify as LGBTQ. Friends, family etc., members are very welcome to meet with us 'AFTER' the gathering, when we go for a drink in a local bar.
HOW TO JOIN. To cover costs of insurance and rent of the venue we use for the drop-in service, there is a fee to attend. To become a Member there is an annual fee of 25 Euro. To attend the regular social drop-in nights, there is a charge of 5 Euro on the night, to cover rent of the venue. We need a minimum of four people attending each meeting to help pay the rent. If we have less than four, the meeting may be cancelled.
