A new programme called ‘Active Healthy Me’ provides information for people with disabilities on the importance and benefits of being physically active, how to live a healthy lifestyle and the opportunities that are available to participate in sport and physical activity within their local community.

The programme is being run by the HSE in collaboration with Cara Sport Inclusion Ireland, supported by Sport Ireland.

Active Healthy Me was created for people with disabilities in adult day services to take control of their health and wellbeing by educating them on the value of good nutrition and hydration, the importance and benefits of physical activity and how they can be active in their local community.
