Wicklow Civil Defence
Wicklow Civil Defence
Wicklow Civil Defence is part of a national volunteer organisation with approximately 3,500 trained volunteers across Ireland who generously give their time to support their communities. Members volunteer in their spare time, undertaking ongoing training to ensure they are prepared to respond whenever their skills are needed.
Civil Defence operates across five core pillars:
- Emergency Response
- Search and Rescue
- Medical Response
- Community Assistance
- Radiation Monitoring
Volunteers receive comprehensive training and regularly participate in exercises to maintain their skills and readiness. Whether supporting emergency services during severe weather, assisting at major incidents, providing medical cover at community events, searching for missing persons, helping vulnerable members of the community, or carrying out radiation monitoring, Civil Defence volunteers play a vital role in protecting and supporting communities throughout Ireland.
