Co. Wicklow Community Action Climate Fund

Wicklow County Council's Community Climate Action Fund is now open for applications for community projects that reduce greenhouse gases, build climate resilience and help communities transition to a lower carbon economy.

The fund of €646,000, is being made available to organisations and community groups in Co. Wicklow who are interested in developing projects and initiatives that relate to the challenge of addressing climate change.  Projects are eligible for 100% funding, up to a maximum of €100,000.  

Wicklow Disability and Inclusion Strategy launched

Wicklow County Council's Disability & Inclusion Steering Committee has launched the Wicklow Disability and Inclusion Strategy 2023.

The Strategy outlines how Wicklow County Council and other community stakeholders will work to make Wicklow a more accessible and inclusive county, over the next five years, and includes actions across a range of areas, with measurable outcomes and clear timelines for them to be achieved. 

Nurturing Minds Workshop: Digital Literacy & What to Look Out For

Learn about technology and your children in this free It Takes A Village Greystones-Delgany  workshop, which will be led by Jane McGarrigle from Webwise, an Irish Internet Safety Awareness Centre. Discover the pros and cons of technology and how to ensure your children's safety online.

Behind the Veil Art Installation

'Behind the Veil - our journey to freedom' is a showcase of 3D art installations in The Whale Greystones to highlight the Global 16 Days Campaign which seeks to eliminate all gender- based violence and the organisers are asking the public to come along and get involved by weaving a star.

New Wicklow Disability and Inclusion Strategy

Wicklow County Council's Disability and Inclusion Steering Committee (DISC) recently launched the first Disability and Inclusion Strategy for County Wicklow.

The strategy is the first of its kind in the whole of Ireland and was developed with the active input of disabled people from across the county.

It has very specific measurable actions across a range of areas, with timelines to ensure that it will be implemented under the oversight of DISC and not just sit on a shelf. 

Wicklow Outdoor Recreation Committee seeks new members

Are you a Wicklow hiker, biker, climber or swimmer? Wicklow Outdoor Recreation Committee (WORC) is setting up a Stakeholder Group for anybody interested in outdoor recreation in Wicklow.


WORC has members from Coillte, National Parks and Wildlife Service, Wicklow County Council, County Wicklow Partnership, Wicklow Local Sports and Recreation Partnership and Wicklow Uplands Council and is an information sharing forum of parties most involved in planning, development and management of recreation in Wicklow.

Bike Repair and Maintenance Workshops

Wicklow County Council, in partnership with the Bray Wheelers cycling club, is excited to announce a series of bicycle repair and maintenance workshops scheduled for October and November 2023.

These workshops, held in various locations around the county, aim to encourage active travel, foster the principles of the circular economy, and promote the numerous physical, mental, and environmental benefits of cycling.

Kilcoole Music Festival

The Kilcoole Music Festival Takes place on 11th-12th and 18th-19th November 2023 in Coláiste Chraobh Abhann, Kilcoole.

The festival provides a platform for children and adults to perform in public, with six days of competitions in vocal, choral, instrumental and orchestral music, specch and drama. Competition entry forms are available on their website.
